The latest version of NX for manufacturing improvements support faster workflows, greater accuracy, and consistently higher part quality across manufacturing processes.
Siemens NX Release 2512
What’s new in NX 2512
NX Manufacturing (CAM)
Fixture automation
Fixture setup time is reduced from hours to minutes through intelligent and automated fixture positioning in NX CAM. Updated and simplified dialogs enable fixtures to be added to the library quickly and integrated into setups with minimal effort. When parts are dynamically repositioned within fixtures, NX CAM provides instant visual feedback, making setups faster, more flexible, and highly accurate than ever.

Background Generate
The new Background Generate capability increases productivity for programming and manufacturing teams by creating toolpaths in the background using a secondary NX process. This allows continued work in the main session without interruptions. Real time status indicators display generation progress and queued operations, ensuring full transparency throughout the process. Intelligent dependency management safeguards parent operations from unintended changes while background generation is active. The process can be started or stopped easily at any time via the context menu.

Machine Powered Programming
Machine programming is elevated to a new level with enhanced control, visibility, and intelligence across NX CAM operations. These improvements ensure that setups are accurate from the very beginning and remain reliable throughout the process. Four new enhancements have been added to help you program machines more efficiently, avoid errors, and achieve higher-quality results.
Integrated work holding device management
Workholding devices can now be created, managed, and simulated with significantly less effort. The new Fixture Automation system automatically aligns fixtures with parts, delivers immediate visual feedback during repositioning, and streamlines overall fixture management. Setups become faster, more flexible, and highly accurate, allowing the focus to remain on efficient programming instead of repetitive manual tasks.

Instant multi-channel machine viz
Monitoring complex multi-channel operations is now simple and intuitive. NX CAM provides dynamic, channel-specific visualization and real-time machine state previews, making setups easier to understand, validate, and execute with confidence.

Real-time Machine Axis Control
During programming, machine axis positions can now be adjusted in real time using the controls available in the Machine tab. Each movement is reflected immediately on screen, providing instant visual feedback and supporting confident validation of programming decisions.
The capability supports all machine setup variants, including complex configurations with workholding or tool holding devices. This ensures seamless integration into existing workflows while further improving overall programming accuracy.

Machine-Aware CAM operations
NX CAM is now more intelligent and fully machine aware. Once a machine is loaded, NX automatically interprets its actual capabilities, including spindle speed ranges, axis limits, travel boundaries, and available coolant options, and applies them directly to CAM operations. Manual parameter adjustments are no longer required, while common errors such as exceeded travel limits or invalid spindle speeds are automatically prevented.
Every operation now starts with machine aware settings, producing programs that are more reliable, more consistent, and significantly less susceptible to last minute adjustments on the shopfloor.

Further new features
NX X Manufacturing extends the cloud based SaaS manufacturing solution with new capabilities for collaboration and automation. Key highlights include Viewer and Connect, Order Management, Immersive Explorer, an enhanced Admin Console, and AI supported machining suggestions for more efficient NC programming.
NX Additive Manufacturing improves process reliability and part quality through optimized build strategies, multi body support, as well as laser assignment and path preview for Renishaw systems. In addition, part and material specific mesh scaling ensures reliable dimensional accuracy.
NX CAM On Machine Probing has been enhanced to enable more efficient and precise measurement cycles. Tool axis based coordinates, true circular movements, improved tool selection, and PMI driven geometry recognition significantly reduce programming effort.
NX Inspection and NX line planning provide further improvements for more efficient programming, realistic time planning, and better integration through new analysis, automation, and planning capabilities.
