When working with Siemens NX CAM, it can be extremely helpful to work with so-called layers/layouts. However, this can sometimes become very confusing if many different layers are used. Siemens NX offers the possibility to save layer settings directly in an operation. In this tutorial we will explain how to work with layers/layouts more clearly.

In this tutorial we will show you how to save layer/layout settings directly in an operation in Siemens NX.
Saving and Switching layers
In the operation menu under options you can save the current layer settings under "Save" (see left picture). All layer settings activated at this time are thus saved within the NX CAM operation and can be used later.
By the way, you can easily switch between layers: Right-click on the operation - Object - Switch Layer/Layout (see right picture). NX will quickly jump to the previously activated layer/layout.
For a better overview it is especially helpful to save layer settings directly within an operation. With Siemens NX you can simplify your work considerably by using layers/layouts in this way.
