Visualize feeds in NX CAM

NX CAM QuickTip | Display feed rates directly on the toolpath.

Feed rates visualized at the toolpath in NX CAM

We go full throttle! In this tutorial we will get a better overview of the feedrates of our operations in NX CAM. Our goal is to get a better feeling for the speed of the tool during machining.

Of course, you can always read this information in NX CAM by double-clicking on the operation in the Info window under "Feeds and Speeds". But can't it also be displayed visually?

It is possible! Especially for an operation with different feed rates, it is helpful to display this information directly on the toolpath.

In our example, we have several operations for machining our part. It will be chamfered with an operation then there is another drilling operation on the top side and finally we would like to have a deep hole drilling operation in here as well.

We will take a closer look at the deep hole drilling in terms of feeds, because in this case a cutting motion is followed by a transfer motion, then another cutting motion, and so on.

Double-click on the operation to open the information window.
In the "Options" section, we click on "Edit display".

Display options in NX CAM for feeds

The display option appears. The feeds can be activated here in "Further" and confirmed with OK.

As soon as the feeds are replayed, they are visible right on the toolpath.

CAM programmers who prefer visual displays to an information window can easily display the feeds directly on the toolpath with this tutorial.
