NX CAM Release 2312

Siemens Digital Industries Software has released a new version of NX in December 2023.

Here is a short overview of the key updates.

Quick Roughing

The new "Rough Milling" operation allows for a fast and easy-to-program offset roughing process. The user-friendly interface enables the straightforward creation of roughing paths with minimal effort. This feature is particularly well-suited for simpler components such as prismatic parts, less complex shapes, as well as cores, molds, and cast parts.

Face Milling

Modernize programming with interactive parameter adjustments. Zig-zag patterns and on-screen UI make face milling toolpaths a breeze, improving efficiency.

Wall Finish Barrel Swarf

The new 5-axis Wall Finish Barrel Swarf operation reduces machining time and enhances surface quality through optimized toolpaths. It allows the use of barrel cutters for parts with straight walls and tangential barrel cutters for parts with curved walls.

Enhanced Holemaking

In the field of Holemaking, user-friendly enhancements have been implemented to facilitate the management of control points during drilling. The "Use initial" option ensures consistent tool positioning above the originally programmed workpiece. Additionally, it is now possible to define a lower safety distance to the bottom of the hole in thread milling operations.

Mill-Turn Workpiece

The latest Mill-Turn Workpiece function simplifies the creation of advanced Mill-Turn CAM setups. It combines the definitions of part and turning geometries into a single geometric object, significantly easing the programming process.
